During this adventure, expert facilitators will provide daily sessions inspired by the work of the Center for Courage & Renewal, Brené Brown’s Dare to Lead™ programs, and other thought leaders in burnout prevention and well being. During the process we explore the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are holding us back and we identify the new choices and practices that will move us toward more authentic and wholehearted living. The sessions will be interactive, fun, and insightful. We’ll work hard, be challenged, and leave feeling ready to take on new challenges.
We begin each day with a hearty breakfast, early morning reflective practice, and inspiring educational sessions. Later in the day we will set out on the daily hiking adventures. This week we will hike the best and most beautiful trails through Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, the Grand Canyon, AND enjoy a pontoon ride on Lake Powell. We will be accompanied by friendly and knowledgeable guides who will fill our days with a soulful blend of scenic hiking, educational insights, and wonderful food. In the early evening as we rejuvenate our mind, soul and trekking legs, we will enjoy lovely group dinners. Each day will be topped off with an opportunity for a social hour around the pool and hot tub. No matter what your level of fitness or personal development experience you are welcome on this active retreat. Las Vegas is the closest major city to the awe inspiring National Parks we’re seeking and departing from the city that never sleeps presents a contrasting experience that will make our hikes and reflection time so much more gratifying. Travelers may arrive in Las Vegas anytime on Sunday, June 16 as we will depart early morning, Monday, June 17.
After the retreat, we will also offer additional virtual sessions. ($500 for 6 months virtual sessions, or $750 for 12 months virtual sessions). The virtual sessions will happen every 2nd Sunday of the month from 6:00 PM – 7:30PM CST and will offer 1 CME per session. For more information, you can go here.

Our time spent cultivating joy, meaning, and purpose is through the use of educational sessions, quiet reflection, journaling, daily group reflections, and sightseeing journeys. We use our experiences and the paths we hike as daily metaphors to develop joy, meaning, and purpose in our lives by understanding our deeper sense of self.
Las Vegas, in Nevada’s Mojave Desert, is a resort city famed for its vibrant nightlife, centered around 24-hour casinos and other entertainment options. It’s Main Street and focal point is the Strip, just over 4 miles long. This boulevard is home to themed hotels with elaborate displays such as fountains synchronized to music as well as replicas of an Egyptian pyramid, the Venetian Grand Canal, and the Eiffel Tower. We’re leaving it all behind for a little solitude, self-reflection and breathtaking scenery. Tonight we will stay at The Linq Hotel.
We will meet for breakfast at 8am, introductions and an overview of the week. We then travel to our hotel in Kanab, UT. Much of the afternoon will be spent in the educational aspect of our retreat. This will focus on creating a brave space and a deep dive into gratitude, relationships and mindset. Breakfast included with your room. We will be staying in Kanab, UT, a central location for this retreat.
Morning educational sessions will be on creating space in our busy life – how to get clear on our values and set boundaries and allow for a new story of meaning and purpose to arise. The afternoon will be spent in Zion National Park. Zion is distinguished by it’s steep red cliffs and soaring sandstone formations. The shear beauty can reduce you to tears, even if you never get out of the vehicle. Today we hike up the Narrows – a river hike with the most amazing views. Don’t have equipment to walk up the river? No worries, as you can rent equipment for the hike at the park. Others on the retreat may choose to hike the steep, narrow trail to famous Angel’s Landing for views atop the canyon. If you are looking for a more leisurely day, the Riverside Walk and lunch at the lodge may also be calling your name. Breakfast included.
Morning educational sessions will focus on perfectionism, grief and forgiveness. Bryce Canyon National Park is known for crimson-colored, spire-shaped rock formations called hoodoos. The park’s main road leads past the expansive Bryce Amphitheater, a hoodoo-filled depression lying below the Bryce Canyon Lodge. You may choose to hike the flat Rim Trail overlooking the hoodoos below, or for the more adventurous, hike down into the hoodoos and check out one of may trails with one of a kind views. Breakfast included.
Morning educational sessions will use clearness committees to focus on how to create the life you desire. Enjoy classic North Rim views from Grand Canyon Lodge, and then walk the paved trail out to Bright Angel Point for dramatic views of Roaring Springs and Bright Angel Canyons. Some may choose to spend the entire day hiking more aggressive trails down into the canyon while others may simply sit in solitude and serenity and fall in love with the landscape. Breakfast included.
Morning educational sessions will focus on transitions and continue to hone the vision for your new life with more meaning, purpose and joy. Lake Powell is part of the Colorado River in Glen Canyon National Recreation area. With 2,000 miles of shoreline, endless sunshine, warm water, perfect weather and some of the most spectacular scenery in the west. We’ll explore opportunities to get on the water and view the Glen Canyon Dam. If your dream is to find a place to perch along the shore and reflect for a few hours, this is a great place to do that. We will rent pontoons, swim, and explore the beaches along this man made wonder. Breakfast and Dinner included.
Arrive back in Las Vegas by noon. Some travelers may choose to fly home later in the day while others may want to spend the weekend in Las Vegas. To continue your quest for personal reflection, consider spending the weekend at one of the Lake Las Vegas Resorts near Henderson, just 20 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, but worlds away from an ordinary Las Vegas experience. Breakfast included.
