  Twyla was a fierce advocate for children, literacy and education. She grew up on a farm near Kress, Texas, and finished Abilene Christian College, taught in public and private schools before finishing her Ed.D. at NTSU. Her teaching passions were evident to her students, and her legacy will live on as scores of teachers are teaching and imparting these values.Twyla was a fierce advocate for children, literacy and education.
