About the Center for Courage & Renewal:
The mission of the Center for Courage & Renewal is to nurture deep integrity and relational trust, building the foundation for a more loving, equitable, and healthy world. Through Circle of Trust retreats and other programs rooted in the Courage & Renewal approach, we nurture supportive communities of reflection and practice to help people come alive with a renewed sense of purpose, build trustworthy relationships, and cultivate the courage to rise to today’s challenges, making a difference within themselves and their communities. Board, committee and ad hoc project service offers a rewarding way of engaging in our mission, ensuring our organization can sustain this important work for many years to come while helping people build the stamina to keep showing up for themselves, others, and the worthy causes they care about.

It is an especially exciting time in the life of CCR. Coming off the heels of our 25th anniversary, we’re growing our staff, expanding program offerings and resources, nurturing belonging and community, and broadening our global reach. We’re also building new systems and processes that will expand our capacity to engage in outreach and partnerships within a growing international context.

About the Role
The Board’s ability to engage wholeheartedly in supporting CCR deeply depends on engaging a widely diverse range of lived experiences and capabilities. In this critical phase of our growth we are particularly interested in welcoming people to the board who have experience/skills in the areas of advancement and finance.

In terms of time and expectations, board members can expect to spend about an hour or two each week on CCR activities. More time is expected just before and after board meetings. We meet on a quarterly basis, with one four day in-person meeting annually in the Fall and a 3-day virtual meeting in the Spring. Committees convene as needed between meetings.

Sound meaningful and fun? Then please complete the questionnaire below by Wednesday, June 14th or pass it along to others who might be interested. Responses will be anonymized to reduce unconscious bias and we’ll follow up in the weeks ahead beginning with those interested and qualified to serve on the board. Please send any questions to board@couragerenewal.org.

CCR Board Expression of Interest and Skills Questionnaire

Kindly provide candid answers to the items below. The twofold purpose of this self-assessment is to (1) give you a sense of the knowledge and skills we think are critical to the board’s success and (2) give us a sense of your interest and experience.

None of us is expected to be skilled and proficient in all of the areas below, so please know that we anticipate that you’ll mark some of them lower than others. Please contact us at board@couragerenewal.org if you have questions along the way. Thanks in advance for your thoughtfulness.
