Dorothy Broom began facilitating Courage & Renewal retreats after more than 35 years research and teaching in health sociology. She holds a BA from Carleton College, MA from the University of Illinois, and PhD from the Australian National University. Comparing facilitating retreats with her academic career, she relishes the simultaneously similar and different kinds of thinking and working offered by Courage & Renewal, and is grateful to be involved in encouraging better alignment between soul and role. She received an Order of Australia award for her research and advocacy in women’s health.
