Courage & Renewal Facilitator
Speaks English, Spanish

I am currently an apprentice in the Facilitator Preparation Program.  I anticipate finishing the program early 2025.  I am using my apprenticeship to help me synthesize my love of teaching and learning.  I serve s a high school science educator, an adjunct professor in education, and a yoga instructor at a local studio.   I first encountered Courage work through reading Parker’s book, The Courage to Teach.  Like many of you who have read it, I was “hooked.”  Since that point (Spring 2016),  I have endeavored to weave CCR principles and practices into both my professional and personal life.  When I’m not “out and about,” you can find me at home on my back porch, one of my favorite places to be.   I live in Keezletown, Virginia, which is located in the Shenandoah Valley, about 2.5 hours southwest of Washington, D.C.  I have a small garden and love living in the Appalachian Mountains.  If you know me well, you know that I love to eat and love to host.  Whether a friend joins for coffee or planning large gathering,  I deeply enjoy curating experiences for people and bringing folks together in meaningful ways.  I am honored to be a part of this Courage community!

Favorite quote

We do not "come into" this world; we come out of it, as leaves from a tree. As the ocean "waves," the universe "peoples." Every individual is an expression of the whole realm of nature, a unique action of the total universe.

What I Do For Fun, Rest, and Renewal

I love to cook, eat, exercise, sit in saunas, and be outside. When I’m not in the woods by my house, I am on the porch, hanging with friends, or at a nearby pickleball court.

Organizations I've Worked With

I am currently collaborating with the Greater Good Science Center, a program based out of UC Berkeley. I am participating in their Great Good Educators Pilot Program, an international collaboration of educators dedicated to practicing social-emotional strategies and activities in our classroom spaces.
