Hanna Sherman

Hanna B. Sherman, MD currently serves as chair of the Board of Directors for WE (Well-being and Equity) in the World, an organization working with communities to build a more just and abundant world in which more people thrive. Intrinsic to the work is the impetus to be better ancestors anchored in leading from within.

In the past, she served as Program Director of Health and Health Care for the Center for Courage & Renewal, working with health care leaders and organizations to develop safe and trustworthy spaces for personal and professional growth, leading with integrity, and relational trust. For many years she co-led Courage to Lead®, a retreat series for professional development and renewal for leaders in health care and other serving professions. Her former consulting group, Relationship Centered Health Care, was a forerunner of promoting relationship centered leadership and care.

In 2010 Hanna helped to found Partners for ACCESS, an organization supporting a medical clinic, nursing school, and community development center in rural Uganda.  In 2015, she was one of the developers and co-chairs of the initiative, 100 Million Healthier Lives, a collaboration of change agents across sectors working to transform how the world thinks and acts to improve health, well-being, and equity. The work of 100 Million Healthier Lives led to the founding of WE in the World, forming the foundation for substantive, equitable community transformation.

A pediatrician by training, Hanna received her medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed her internship and residency at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
