Joy is a researcher, educator, facilitator who fosters environments where individuals can access their truest intuitions, experience human connection, and deepen a sense of their belonging in the world.

With a graduate degree in Linguistic Sciences, her research (University of Maryland and L’Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris) has been at the intersection of linguistics, anthropology and sociology, focusing specifically on human interaction in spaces where divergent discourse communities meet, and analyzing the fine-grained ways members of these communities affirm their identities and situate themselves in relation to ‘the other’.

A founding member of the French not-for-profit, Cohérence, she champions innovative, grass roots approaches to sustainably bettering the lives of the disenfranchised.  Her professional experience includes designing sociocultural trainings for international aid workers and teaching English as a second language in both corporate and academic settings.

Joy is originally from the U.S., she is a long-term resident of France.
