Michael brings over 30 years experience working with leaders in Australia, Asia and the Pacific as a manager, consultant, learning facilitator and coach, in different sectors (small to large, business, government, not-for-profit) with a particular passion for working in developing countries. Over the last 2 years he has become increasingly concerned with nurturing leadership across the political domain in Australia.
Michael, together with his wife, Lynden, is a founding directors of Aasha Consulting: a niche consulting group offering a distinctive mix of individual, organisation and community development. We are a diverse, experienced, multidisciplinary team offering customised, highly responsive action-learning based leadership, organisation and community development services to a wide range of clients across government, community and private sectors, in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
In recent years Michael was a valued contributor to strategic leadership development in the Western Australian Health Department including designing and running: a 3-month, Executive Coaching Program for executive directors across WA Health; a 14-month Executive Team Leadership Development program for a large division of the organisation; and a 7-month Aboriginal Leadership Development program for the Aboriginal Health Division.
He has also (2006-11) been involved in two multi-year action-learning public sector strengthening initiatives for AusAID in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. These have involved improving the capacity building skills of local staff & expatriate technical advisers and developing self-sustaining women’s leadership mentoring networks through use of coaching, adult learning, change management and consulting skills.
