Susan Nodurft lives in southern Mississippi. She retired in 2007 after a long teaching career in the biological sciences that emphasized outdoor experiential learning, deep ecology and connection to the natural world. In 2000, her passion for teaching/learning, holistic approach to education and interest in the environment led to involvement in Courage and Renewal work. In 2001, Susan established “Courage to Teach of Mississippi” at Pearl River Community College with a commitment to bringing this innovative renewal experience to educators in the deep south. Since then, she has facilitated retreats in Mississippi and the Southeast for educators, as well as, professionals from a wide variety of vocations. After retiring from teaching, Susan has continued to facilitate retreats with a special interest in offering retreats that support the life and work of those dedicated to environmental sustainability.
