It remains painfully clear that we continue to live in incredibly challenging times. And as black women, we know that we continue to experience some of the greatest challenges in our world. However, it is vitally important for us to remember that we are not powerless. We can help change the world by changing how we feel about ourselves.
Remembering our own self-worth is one of the best things black women can do to navigate all that is going on in the world. Doing inner work in the supportive community of other black women makes connecting with our self-love more possible. And it makes this hard and important work enjoyable. The added bonus is that, as we improve our own lived experiences, we help transform the world and improve the lived experiences of others.
In September 2020, we began offering Black Women’s Radical Self-Love (Mini) Retreats. These retreats were so transformative that we offered them again in 2021-2022 and in 2022-2023. You are warmly invited to participate in this transformative retreat series for 2023-2024. In these retreats, we’ll engage in powerful and enjoyable contemplative practices and processes with a loving and supportive group of black women, each doing their own inner work. The mini retreats will be offered from noon the 2:30pm ET on the third Saturday, every other month. Here are the dates and themes:
December 16 — What My Soul Wants for Me
February 17 — Aligning with the Universe through Gratitude
April 13 [note: this is the 2nd Saturday] — My Unique and Wonderful Gifts
June 15 — My World in a Circle
August 17 [daylong retreat, 10am – 5pm ET] — Loving Myself Radically: A New Story about Me
