embodying courage: paths toward a hidden wholeness

"Wholeness does not mean perfection: it means embracing brokenness as an integral part of life. Knowing this gives me hope that human wholeness—mine, yours, ours—need not be a utopian dream, if we use devastation as a seedbed for new life." -Parker Palmer A Hidden Wholeness

This 2.5-day retreat offers a unique opportunity for personal and professional exploration and growth within the vibrant backdrop of New York City. Within the vibrant hum of the city, we’ll co-create a trustworthy haven for introspection on the theme, “a hidden wholeness,” embarking on a deeply personal yet profoundly communal inward journey.

Through self-awareness and deep listening, we’ll explore the various facets of the self that empower and challenge our ability to be fully present in the world as social change agents. Reconnect with the voice of your inner wisdom, a guide towards finding your own personal wholeness—and taking that self to engage our broken world.

This retreat is for you if:

  • You have a commitment to embodying courage that leads to social change in the world.
  • You’re seeking to transform past challenges into seedbeds of hope and renewed purpose.
  • You yearn to discover the wholeness you carry within and express it authentically in your life and work.
  • You desire to learn and grow alongside others in a supportive, safe community.

Together we’ll:

  • Cultivate deep listening and self-awareness.
  • Embrace the paradox of “being alone together.”
  • Discover the courage to live authentically.
  • Reconnect with your inner wisdom.
  • Design a path towards embodying a hidden wholeness in daily life.

Please note:

This retreat will feature Clearness Committees. In your application to the retreat, you will be able to designate whether you desire to be a “focus person,” someone who thinks deeply about an issue–transitional, vocational, relational, or spiritual–while a group of your peers serve as “committee members,” asking open honest questions for 1 ½ hour.

Numerous participants have commented on the profound experience of the Clearness Committee–both as “focus person” and “committee members” due to its ability to offer a unique way of being together in community. Everyone will be prepped for the experience of the Clearness Committee during the retreat; however you may read more about this practice here.

*Please note that in the event we have too many persons who sign up to be a clearness committee focus person, we will hold a drawing of names for who will be our focus persons for this retreat.
