Join us for this weekly 6-session series, as we engage in a conversation about the joys and challenges of being a parent to adult children, with a focus on doing our inner work, holding tension in life-giving ways, taking some risks, and growing in healthier relationships.
This program is being independently organized and led by a Courage & Renewal Facilitator(s) prepared by the Center for Courage & Renewal. While we support our facilitators in various ways, CCR has no direct responsibility for the planning or facilitation of this event. Please direct any questions to the facilitators using the contact form below.

Being a parent is one of the most rewarding—and difficult—experiences of a lifetime. At times as bewildering and isolating as it can be joyous. This weekly 6-session series is for those for whom relating to adult children has been a challenge at times. If you are weary, finding yourself in unhealthy loops, and you’re ready to move into a more healing and respectful way of being, we welcome you to join us.
Drawing from the powerful Courage & Renewal® approach, particularly centering our Touchstones as essential tools, this practice-focused series will support holding tension in life-giving ways, moving away from “what is being done to me” to “who are we in relationship with one another.” We’ll also reflect on how to move away from being caught in a net of blame, shame, and guilt.
Through large group, small group, and individual reflection, along with wisdom stories, creative expression, poetry and body-awareness practices, we will…
If you’re ready for a shift in a more positive direction, we hope you join us. And take note: if you are struggling with something very raw and/or recent, please reach out to us to discern whether this series is for you.
Healing Relationships will be grounded in the Courage & Renewal® approach which you can learn more about in Parker J. Palmer’s book, A Hidden Wholeness. All are welcome.
An optional Circle of Trust® orientation will be held Monday, February 2, from 4:00 pm. to 6:00 p.m. ET for those who are new to the Courage & Renewal approach.
Online, via Zoom. You will need access to a computer or laptop; a set of headphones/earbuds may be helpful. You will also need a strong internet connection and a location in which you can be uninterrupted during our sessions.
This retreat comes from our hearts to you, and we hope your participation is your gift to yourself! We are committed to hosting this important conversation and as such, are glad to offer a sliding scale of $95 to $195. If circumstances make even our lower fee difficult, please reach out.
We have carefully planned this series. If you must cancel, please let us know as soon as you know!
After January 20, no refunds can be guaranteed.
