Why not believe in magic?
Can I soften? Can I soften some more?
Does truth exist?…
What’s the next nice thing
I can do for someone else?
What’s for breakfast? What’s at stake?…
Where am I in my own way?…
How might I be more river, less dam?
Can I ask without longing for answers?
Can I feel I am one with it all?
How does life live through me?
Can I be in service to that?
What do I believe I can’t give away?
What if I say nothing and listen?
Will I choose awe today?
Excerpts from the poem: Questions for the New Year
January 1, 2024 by Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer
The season winds down, and another year draws to a close. So often we are asked about our resolutions for the new year – and just as frequently, they become another “should,” another task to fulfill, and a way to feel as if what we are doing isn’t enough. What if, in the company of others, we were able to turn down the volume of our day-to-day lives long enough to listen to what most wants to be known? To ask questions instead of seeking answers? To be present to the deeper intention that arises in the stillness of that moment?
In this 4-hour micro-retreat, we will nurture a trustworthy space in which to look back at the year, before casting an inward glance to what wants to be known in the here and now, and days and weeks to come. Through the Courage & Renewal approach, Touchstones, creative expression, visualization and a time of deep listening and reflection, this offering invites you to connect with yourself and others.
Listening Deeply to Your Heart’s Desire will be grounded in the Courage & Renewal® approach which you can learn more about in Parker J. Palmer’s book, A Hidden Wholeness. All are welcome.
Marcia Eames-Sheavly, Courage & Renewal Facilitator, and Natalie Scholl of Soul Ways Coaching will cofacilitate this unique micro-retreat experience.
About Natalie Scholl: Natalie is a lifelong seeker of Spirit, treasuring the journey of discovery along paths of shared joys and challenges.
