Please join us for a day-long retreat as we explore through reflection, poetry, creative expression and writing how it is we want to meet the world, what is being asked of us, what is ours (and what might not be!) to take up at this time.
This program is being independently organized and led by a Courage & Renewal Facilitator(s) prepared by the Center for Courage & Renewal. While we support our facilitators in various ways, CCR has no direct responsibility for the planning or facilitation of this event. What in your life is calling you, when all the noise is silenced, the meetings adjourned… the lists laid aside, and the wild iris blooms by itself in the dark forest… what still pulls on your soul? —Rumi
Do you feel a restlessness, a quickening, yet you’re not sure where to put your growing energy?
These are troubled times. Daily, we confront difficult news, and it may register in us as trauma, grief and fear. It’s easy to think that our contribution might not be big enough! Yet at the same time, whenever societies cycle through crises there are those who roll up their sleeves and arise to meet the world’s challenges, aiming to carry goodness into whatever is coming.
A “holy restlessness” may be stirring, inviting us to listen deeply for a call to rise to the occasion in our own small way. The current times and its challenges can even inspire a new inventiveness and creativity. When we show up for whatever is whispering to us, we often inspire others through our hunger to live congruently. Even if we experience fear, we summon the courage to try to see beyond destruction and violence as a means for contending with issues. Though our spiritual paths may differ, we likely have a fierce dedication to integrity, truth, and deep listening.
Does this sound like you…?
In this day-long retreat, we will nurture a trustworthy space to listen deeply to discover our own quickening—what is happening in the ground of our lives that wants to burst into growth now. What might we unveil if we take the time to reflect and listen, and how might we serve something bigger than we are?
Come to sit with others as we aim to listen deeply, live congruently, and respond intentionally.
Through the Courage & Renewal approach and through creative expression, writing and reflection, this offering invites you to connect with yourself and others—to slow down, reflect and notice through the gateways of listening, creativity, imagination, and shared exploration.
Sacred Restlessness will be grounded in the Courage & Renewal® approach which you can learn more about in Parker J. Palmer’s book, A Hidden Wholeness. All are welcome, and it is a welcoming retreat, too, for the newcomer to the Courage & Renewal approach.
11:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. ET, with comfort breaks sprinkled throughout the retreat.
Online, via Zoom. If you are new to this format, you’ll receive guidance in advance so you know what to expect.
