“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was greater
than the risk it took to blossom.”

What holds us back from being our most creative selves? So often it can be our own internal fears – of too much risk, of failure, of being “not enough.” This Wild Creative Soul Courage & Renewal® retreat offers a chance to deeply nurture our creative spirits by engaging in a learning stance to uncover and release some of the blocks and barriers which hold us back – most notably those in our own minds.
We extend a special welcome to those who might wonder, Am I creative? It’s not necessary to be artistic to participate. Please join us!
Drawing on principles and practices of a Circle of Trust® (COT) and through large group, small group, and solitary reflection, we will explore creativity and receptive stillness through the lens of our fears of failure. Using Courage & Renewal principles and practices, we will invite you to be with others as we each engage in the inner work necessary to welcome the muse into our lives and to press the ‘reset’ button on the treadmill of busy-ness which so often dampens our creative impulse.
In this retreat we will…
- Challenge assumptions by examining what we think we see – and what is really there.
- Take some risks and explore the discomfort associated with doing so.
- Focus on our gifts which bubble up out of the deepest part of our authenticity.
- Learn principles and practices that can be applied to our daily lives and work, helping us stay true to who we are.
- Set a meaningful intention to carry these discoveries forward.
The Wild Creative Sojourn: Voyaging Beyond the Fear of Failure will be grounded in the Courage & Renewal® approach which you can learn more about in Parker Palmer’s book, A Hidden Wholeness. It is intended for anyone longing to deepen in relationship with creative expression. All are welcome.
