A Wild Creative Soul Retreat: Tending the Seed

With a sense of spaciousness and generativity, we will awaken our imaginations, take some risks, seek beauty and inspiration in our natural surroundings – all with the goal of letting our creative juices flow. You need not see yourself as an “artist” – in fact, we especially welcome “novices.” We offer a welcoming home for anyone who wants to (re)connect with their creative urges.

What shape waits in the seed of you to grow and spread its branches against a future sky?
~David Whyte

This retreat is offered as a space in which we can ignite that creative spark. It might be lying dormant, ready to awaken and, with some encouragement, be ready to burst into growth.

Drawing on principles and practices of a Circle of Trust® retreat; through large group, small group, and solitary reflection, we will explore how we might awaken and nurture our creative potential.   We will explore how limitations impact us, the “loosening” that might be necessary for creativity and growth and the intersections and tensions that arise as we hold both boundaries and a sense of expansiveness.  Practicing the Courage & Renewal approach, your facilitators offer an invitation to connect with others as we each engage in the inner work necessary to tend the seed of your creative spirit.

In this retreat you will…

  • Tend the seed that fosters creative growth.
  • Discover more about limitations and the ways in which they may be barriers – or benefits – in your creative life.
  • Loosen the reins that might be holding you back.
  • Take some risks, make some mistakes, and engage joyfully and playfully.
  • Learn principles and practices from our Courage & Renewal® approach that can be applied to your daily life and work, helping you stay true to who you are.
  • Connect with others who hope for a renewed sense of courage and creativity in their lives.

Tending the Seed: A Wild Creative Soul retreat will be grounded in the Courage & Renewal approach which you can learn more about in Parker J. Palmer’s book, A Hidden Wholeness. It is intended for anyone longing to deepen in relationship with creative expression.  All are welcome.
