Will trained and practised as a Chartered Accountant and spent over twenty years in various finance and leadership roles. He now runs his own coaching and facilitation business, The Will Johnson Journey.
Throughout Will’s professional life, a consistent thread has been a passion for people, personal and spiritual development and learning to show up as his most authentic self. Making sense of his life’s roles as a husband, father, son, and friend has led to the desire to create spaces for others to explore the intersection of their humanity and their life’s journey.
Inspired by teachers such as Parker J. Palmer and Gabrielle Roth, mythologists Michael Meade and Martin Shaw, and poets David Whyte and Mary Oliver, his approach is to explore the larger and often unspoken questions of our time.
Will is a member of the first European cohort of facilitators prepared by The Centre for Courage and Renewal. Circle of Trust® retreats offer participants the most immersive experience of the Courage & Renewal approach. During retreats, we co-create trustworthy space to do our own inner work in community with others. Circles of Trust help us listen to the wisdom of our inner teacher, honour each person’s identity and integrity, and renew our courageous spirit as we journey towards personal and societal wholeness.
“Will has a lovely, welcoming and gentle manner that permeates through his facilitation. To me, he is an embodiment of what this work is all about…courage, authenticity, leadership, inner power.” —Mary, Courage & Renewal Facilitator.
Having developed a particular interest in supporting other men on their ‘journey home’, Will jointly hosts an annual in-person ‘Mythopoetic’ Gathering For Men, each November in Suffolk, UK.
He writes a monthly newsletter inspired by the place he makes his home, The Cambridgeshire Fens, “Fenland Musings, A Mythopoetic Journey: Living A Courageous & Fulfilling Life”. This can be read at https://fenlandmusings.substack.com/

What I Do For Fun, Rest, and Renewal
I love to be in the company of my wife, and young children, watching them grow and navigate the world as they do. Often I will have several books on the go at any one time, and begin every day by reading and sitting with at least one poem. Nature always feels like the place I go to when in need of deep rest and I try and get out for a walk as often as I can.
