“The success of yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships.”
— T.K.V. Desikachar
What does it mean to live with courage in our bodies, not just in our thoughts?
This three Thursday series invites participants into a gentle, contemplative exploration of embodied awareness grounded in the principles and Touchstones of the Center for Courage & Renewal. Through a thoughtful blend of pranayama, mindful movement, silence, and shared reflection, we will practice listening inwardly for the wisdom that already lives within us.
Each session will center on one Courage & Renewal Touchstone as a quiet anchor for the evening. We will begin with breath practices that regulate and settle the nervous system, followed by accessible embodied movement designed to cultivate presence. The physical practice will serve as a doorway into deeper inner listening.
The latter portion of each gathering will offer structured space for reflection, optional sharing, and the honoring of silence. Participants are invited to speak from personal experience, to listen deeply, and to trust their own inner teacher. No prior yoga experience is required. All bodies and all levels of familiarity with Courage & Renewal are welcome.
This series is about becoming more attuned. It is a practice of slowing down to notice what is true.
Over the course of three weeks, we will build relational trust, strengthen inner awareness, and explore how embodied presence can support more courageous and compassionate living in our daily lives.
Each Thursday evening will follow a consistent and gently held rhythm:
7:30–7:45 PM
Arrival, grounding, introduction to the evening’s Touchstone, and guided pranayama to settle the nervous system.
7:45–8:15 PM
Accessible embodied practice designed to cultivate presence and deepen inner listening.
8:15–8:30 PM
Structured reflection, optional sharing, and closing breath practice to integrate the experience.
Each session builds upon the previous week, allowing relational trust and inner awareness to deepen over the three week journey.
Peggy Dippen has practiced Ashtanga yoga since 2003, studying primarily with Christine Hoar and Kathy McNames. She completed her 200 hour and 300 hour yoga teacher trainings through Yoga Vermont in 2017 and has been teaching yoga and mindfulness in community settings since that time.
Ashtanga yoga is rooted in the eight limbed path described in the Yoga Sutras. “Ashta” means eight and “anga” means limb. The physical postures, or asana, are one limb. Pranayama, or breath regulation, is another. The yamas and niyamas offer guidance for how we relate to ourselves and to the world around us. These principles inform Peggy’s approach to practice, weaving embodiment with ethical awareness and relational presence.
Peggy currently teaches weekly vinyasa and gentle yoga classes in Hinesburg, Vermont, and occasionally offers restorative sessions. She also subs at Shelburne Athletic Club and leads workshops that explore yogic philosophy, mindfulness, and contemplative practice.
In addition to her yoga background, Peggy is a mindfulness based psychedelic guide and a certified facilitator with the Center for Courage & Renewal. Her work integrates embodied practice, reflective inquiry, and the cultivation of inner listening in supportive group settings.
