Dr. Gloria J. Burgess has been a friend of Courage work for 30+ years. She is a CC&R facilitator & former member of the board. An inspirational speaker and award-winning poet & author, Gloria shares her triumph over extreme poverty, racism, & sexism, & equips others to do the same. A former executive in IT, human services, & philanthropy, Gloria is Founder & Executive Director of The Lift Every Voice Foundation & Founder & President of Jazz, Inc., a global leadership firm. She is blessed to partner with diverse organizations & nations, including AT&T, Boeing, Microsoft, Starbucks, MSNBC, Casey Family Programs, Harborview Hospital, Providence Heath Care System, Kenya’s National Parliament, Paraguay’s Office of the President, & South African Embassy. Gloria’s books include Pass It On!, a sumptuously illustrated visual biography shares the true story about her father’s life-changing relationship with Nobel Laureate William Faulkner.
