Jana Rickerson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of leadership experience in human services, aging, community non-profits, and health care. She has always loved working with and on behalf of children and families, and her first career was as an elementary school teacher. Jana is currently facilitating programs for caregivers, particularly those caring for aging parents, blending her facilitation trainings with the Center for Courage and Renewal and the Jewish Studio Project.
Jana has explored many different models of cultural humility, racial justice healing, LGBTQ inclusion and community building. Most recently she served as a consultant and leadership mentor with Johns Hopkins University in the Health Policy Research Scholars program. Jana serves as an appointed member of the San Mateo County LGBTQ Commission and a volunteer with elementary school students in her local school district. She is excited to weave these lifestrands together with her Courage and Renewal work in order to explore new ways of listening and hearing people into deeper speech.
