John Fenner

John Fenner retired from his staff position at the Center for Courage & Renewal in 2023. His previous CCR roles included Director of Programs for Clergy & Congregational Leaders and Director of Facilitator Preparation. He has been facilitating Courage & Renewal retreats since 2003 with people from a variety of backgrounds and professions. Previously, John worked as a consultant to nonprofits, churches and communities on conflict resolution, dialogue, racial equity and organization/community change processes. From 1998 to 2006, he served as the Executive Director for the Center for Dialogue, a community-based nonprofit dedicated to the promotion of peaceful communities and positive change in individuals and organizations. John enjoys travel, reading, hiking in the mountains of Western North Carolina and volunteering for the local Democratic Party.
