Maria is currently an apprentice in the Courage & Renewal Facilitator Preparation program.
A Romanian educator, anthropologist, improviser, and poet, Maria has been guiding the creative movement through transition phases for youth and adults in Europe, Caucasus and North Africa since 2009.
Initially trained as an adventure education facilitator by Outward Bound, she is the co-founder of Education Studio, the organisation in Transylvania she led for 7 years before moving to Portugal, where she currently lives with her partner.
In her MA studies in Cultural Anthropology and Communication Sciences, she explored the impact that experiential learning programs have on community development.
She studied Viola Spolin’s improvisation theater with coach Aretha Sills and graduated the “Improvisation for Educators” class. She is a Reiki therapist trained by the Portuguese Institute of Naturology.
Her poetry has been published in Magma Poetry’s Liberation edition [UK], Wax Poetry [CA] and featured at Poetry Expo by Versopolis. She featured as a guest at Trafika Europe Radio, the European Literature Network and the Relocurious podcast.
Maria is the founder of the Meadows Renewal Experiences project in Porto, where she offers guidance and practical methods to encounter creative possibilities hidden in the unknown, through programs like “Possibility – the gift of uncertainty” and “Improvising with Life”.
