Between the Lines: A Courage & Renewal Author Series Event with Norma Wong & Parker J. Palmer

In this reflective conversation, Norma Wong & Parker Palmer reflects on how we move through a world in crisis to co-create new realities that better serve us and the planet.

This recording is part of Between the Lines, a Courage & Renewal author series that invites meaningful conversations with writers whose work helps us reflect deeply, live courageously, and lead with heart.

In this session, Norma Wong — Zen master, community advisor, and author of When No Thing Works: A Zen and Indigenous Perspective on Resilience, Shared Purpose, and Leadership in the Timeplace of Collapse — joins Parker J. Palmer, Kathryn McElveen, and the Center for Courage & Renewal to explore how courage, imagination, and shared practice can help us step in — co-creating new possibilities for ourselves, our relationships, and our communities.

Together, they explore what this in-between time asks of us and how we move through a world in crisis to co-create new realities that better serve us and the planet, including:

  • What each of their experiences in political and community organizing reveal about the deeper relational work of transformation.
  • What role institutions have to play in co-creating an emergent worldview, especially in a time when many institutions are struggling to maintain trust and relevance. How do we discern what’s still worth holding on to?
  • How to stay grounded and informed amid the noise and misinformation of modern life, and in this time of accelerating change, how do we move from observation to courageous action?
  • The practices and strategies that help us push through discord, build trustworthy relationships, and move towards a more sustainable and interdependent future.
