It is easy to lose our zest for life.
We often have times when we find ourselves confused and tired of the day-to-day. We sense that something is missing: it might be clarity and a renewed sense of direction. We want more from our lives.
This four day experience, nestled in the Old City of Quebec, is an opportunity to explore, rest, play and reorient. It is for anyone who:
-desires a guided process for self-discovery;
-is in the process of making a life decision and seeking inner wisdom;
-enjoys integrating soulful self learning with yoga, meditation and body awareness
-values the teaching of Parker J. Palmer and the Circle of Trust® lineage
-yearns for living with a whole heart and in greater alignment with their true self.
Guided by the couple team of Dan and Robyn, who have facilitated retreats for thousands of participants, you will share in a proven and generous way of being together. In these wise spaces, some principles and practices create a trustworthy, brave space of attention, imagination, and confidential conversations. Dan Hines was mentored by Parker J. Palmer and facilitates soulful encounters throughout the world. Robyn Hines is a 500 RYT Yoga Instructor and owns a yoga studio in BC. For the summer months, they live on their sailboat ‘Anam Cara’.
Each morning, Robyn guides embodied practices of yoga, breathwork and meditation to help integrate the fullness of our individual and collective learning. As well, with Dan’s facilitation, you will experience Clearness Committees, a disciplined two hour discernment process: arising from the early Quakers. In this process a person who longs for clarity – transitional, vocational, relational, or spiritual – has an opportunity to be the “focus person” while a prepared “committee” of others listens, records and asks open questions.
There will be ample time for solitude, reflection, journal writing and also for exploring the Old City. In our evenings, there is an option for some local cuisine and walking tours. Le Monastères des Augustines is an amazing historic hotel/museum and lies in a perfect location for adventure. Completely restored and refurbished, Le Monastère offers visitors a unique experience in overall health as well as a living contact with the heritage of the Augustines. We welcome our visitors without distinction of culture or religion and approach the religious from its historical and cultural angle.
The retreat will be facilitated in English.
“Wholeness does not mean perfection:
it means embracing brokenness as an integral part of life.”
–Parker J. Palmer
