There is in us an instinct for newness, for renewal, for a liberation of creative power. We seek to awaken in ourselves a force which really changes our lives from within. And yet the same instinct tells us that this change is a recovery of that which is deepest, most original, most personal in ourselves. To be born again is not to become somebody else, but to become ourselves. ~ Thomas Merton
Looking to nature as a guide for seasons of growth, we will engage in practices that let our imaginations – as well as our hands and our heart – lead us toward the best ways to bring our hopes and ideas into fruition, perhaps even manifesting that which wants to be made known and come alive.
Drawing on principles and practices of a Circle of Trust® retreats; through large group, small group, and solitary reflection, we will explore what helps us fly and what keeps us grounded. Using the Courage & Renewal® approach, your facilitators offer an invitation to be with others as we each engage in the inner work necessary to invite creativity to soar.
In this retreat you will…
- Look to nature as a guide for nurturing our creative process and projects toward fruition.
- Consider what might be holding us back from expressing our creativity in ways that feel rewarding and life-giving.
- Reflect alone and with others about next steps in our creative lives.
- Take some risks, make some mistakes, and engage joyfully and playfully.
- Learn principles and practices from our Courage & Renewal approach that can be applied to your daily life and work, helping you stay true to who you are.
- Connect with others who hope for a renewed sense of courage and creativity in their lives.
Taking Flight: A Wild Creative Soul retreat will be grounded in the Circle of Trust® retreat practices which you can learn more about in Parker J. Palmer’s book, A Hidden Wholeness. It is intended for anyone longing to deepen in relationship with creative expression. All are welcome.
