Blue in December

Please join us for this four-hour micro-retreat for a time of simply being with one another—to acknowledge what is real, listen to ourselves and others, and perhaps, to find some things to appreciate about our lives just the way they are.

Twinkling lights, candles, greens, beauty…  Depending on where you live and how you welcome in the month of December, it’s often a time of gathering with loved ones, gift giving, eating special foods, celebration and joy.

There also can be expectations—ours, and others’ for us. Perhaps it’s for a particularly delightful season, that certain festivities will bring out the best in us, that it will be the most wonderful time we’ve ever had with our families. Maybe in the process of looking forward to the season, we so badly want it to be that special time that we find ourselves squelching whatever it is that is really arising in us.

The truth is, we might not always feel the joy of the season, and these expectations can amplify feelings of loneliness, sorrow, uncertainty or dissatisfaction, and our internal mood may more closely match the gray of rain or snow that may fringe some of our outer landscapes.

We invite you to join us for this four-hour micro-retreat for a time of simply being with one another—to acknowledge what is real, listen to ourselves and others, and perhaps, to find some things to appreciate about our lives just the way they are.

Through the Courage & Renewal® approach this offering invites you to connect with yourself and others—and to have a chance to name the ways things are, without fixing, saving and advising—just witnessing and being witnessed in a trustworthy space.

Blue in December will be grounded in the Courage & Renewal® approach  which you can learn more about in Parker J. Palmer’s book, A Hidden Wholeness. All are welcome.

Online, via Zoom. You will need access to a computer or laptop; a set of headphones/earbuds may be helpful. You will also need a strong internet connection and a location in which you can be uninterrupted during our sessions.

This offering is our gift; your presence is yours. As an extension of your gift, we invite you to support our work, as you are able, out of a spirit of gratitude, generosity, and reciprocity. We thank you in advance. Every amount, no matter how small or large, is valued. [Suggested gift, $45.00 USD*].

Payment information will be provided when you register.
