Come to Empty and Fill Your Cup: A Micro-Retreat for Weary Activists, Changemakers and Caregivers

Join us for a 4-hour micro-retreat as we take time to exhale and empty, before returning to the world filled with that which most nourishes us.

Going nowhere…isn’t about turning your back on the world;

 it’s about stepping away now and then so that you can see the world

more clearly and love it more deeply.

Leonard Cohen

We are living in a time of profound discord and trauma. Many of us live – and work – with the daily threat of violence, grief, and suffering caused by conflict, personal struggles, health crises, economic woes and profound changes to our ecosystems. Despite our commitment, it’s so easy for anxiety and fatigue to settle into our very marrow.

If you have been drawn to this experience, you, too, have been out there in the thick of it in some way, wanting to meet the world’s demand and to offer your care in one form or another. Your cup is overflowing. And you know you can’t keep filling your cup when it’s already full – the contents just spill across the table, all over you, and onto the floor.

In this 4-hour micro-retreat, we will nurture a trustworthy space in which to take a long exhale, before taking a nourishing in-breath, filling with exactly what we need. Through Touchstones – our guidelines for being together – instrumental music, gentle movement, reflective and creative expression, and a time of very generous listening, this offering invites you to connect more deeply with what is within you.

Come to Empty and Fill Your Cup will be grounded in the Courage & Renewal® Approach, which you can learn more about in Parker J. Palmer’s book, A Hidden Wholeness or at www.couragerenewal.org. All are welcome.

Marcia Eames-Sheavly and Cat Greenstreet – two elders dedicated to holding space for others – will hold space for you.

Online, via Zoom. If you are new to this format, you’ll receive guidance in advance so you know what to expect. You will need access to a computer or laptop; a set of headphones/earbuds may be helpful. You will also need a strong internet connection and a location in which you can be uninterrupted during our sessions.

This offering is our gift; your presence is yours. As an extension of your gift, we invite you to support our work, as you are able, out of a spirit of gratitude, generosity, and reciprocity. We thank you in advance. Every amount, no matter how small or large, is valued. You can send a check to Cat Greenstreet, P.O.
