Holding Change with Courage: A Circle of Trust Retreat

We will explore what it means to “hold change” in our lives and communities, participating in large group, small group, and solitary activities. Poetry, music, art, movement and the beautiful forest, water and mountains that surround us will help us understand ourselves in a deeper way. Together we will co-create a trustworthy space to honor who we are and how we can hold change with integrity and grace.

“There is no power greater than a community discovering what it cares about.”
~Margaret Wheatley

It’s autumn. The leaves, changing, letting go; the ripe fruit, harvested; the world, uncertain. How are you holding change for yourself and others? What do you need now? What does the world need from you now? How can we hold change in ways that support connection and healing for ourselves and our communities?

Are you a change-maker in need of rest, renewal? Join Courage & Renewal facilitators Dawn Montgomery, Julie Johnson, and Kirstin Anglea along with  fellow change-makers to disconnect from the pace and distractions of daily life to take stock of where we are, harvest the wisdom received from this past year and attend to our inner teacher and to one another. It requires courage to drop everything and enter the “portal” rest provides, allowing time to nourish you, change you.  Return to your communities with strength, courage, presence and compassion.

What to Expect: At a Circle of Trust® retreat, we move at the pace of invitation with plenty of time for solitude and reflection. Guided by the principles and practices of the Center for Courage & Renewal®, this retreat will provide opportunities to:

  • Discover a place of solitude in community where you can seek renewal and clarity of purpose.
  • Reflect on who you are, and on the invitation to connect who you are with what you do.
  • Learn healthy ways to embrace paradox and hold tension in life-giving ways.
  • Be within a community of mutual respect and caring that welcomes the soul.
  • Participate in a Clearness Committee, , designed after the powerful Quaker problem-solving model from the 1600’s.

Retreat cost is $695 double occupancy, and $995 single occupancy subject to availability.

Fees include all programming costs and materials and shared occupancy room and board.  You are responsible for your own travel arrangements.

Full payment is expected at time of registration unless other arrangements have been made.

Our Home for this Retreat:  St. Andrews House sits above Hood Canal with a view of the majestic Olympic Mountains in the distance. The traditional log cabin style lodge with elegant hardwood floors, massive stone hearth, oak staircases and two-bedroom wings provide a warm and nurturing retreat setting. Guests often remark on the lodge’s excellent staff, food, and facilities.  Explore this truly special retreat venue here. Participants will be connected for carpooling possibilities from Seattle or Portland.
