We are entering a new world where the norms and expectations of the past no longer apply; to shift well with these changes we need to cultivate a dynamic set of practices, beliefs and values to be able to respond and adapt rather than react and be acted upon. We invite you to join us for a one day, in person, mini retreat in Detroit, Michigan.
This program is being independently organized and led by a Courage & Renewal Facilitator(s) prepared by the Center for Courage & Renewal. While we support our facilitators in various ways, CCR has no direct responsibility for the planning or facilitation of this event. Please direct any questions to the facilitators using the contact form below.
The Center for Courage & Renewal and its facilitators do not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression, age, height, weight, physical or mental ability, veteran status, military obligations, and marital status.

The foundation of the retreat will be built on the collective wisdom and life experiences of the group, as well as Courage & Renewal Retreat principles and practices, fungal wisdom, rhythm of this season, and Tai Chi principles. We will have some time for individual and group reflection, embodied practice, spending time in nature, and making things.
The retreat will be from 10:30am-3:30pm on Monday, February 19th, 2024. We invite participants to bring a dish to share for a mid-day potluck. Please come prepared to be present for the entirety of the retreat.
This retreat is being offered in the spirit of the gift. We will are grateful for any monetary offering that feels life giving, and we also have a suggested sliding scale of $50-$100.
The retreat will be shaped by Marcia Lee’s experience as a Courage & Renewal facilitator. She will be joined by en sawyer (he/him) who is an artist, taiko drummer, woodworker, urban mycologist, permaculturist, vipassana meditator, and father. He aspires to live with discernment and according to the dictates of wisdom. His central questions in life are how to live gracefully and harmoniously on this earth, to laugh heartily, share openly and learn tirelessly. He co-founded Taproot Sanctuary with his partner, Marcia Lee.
We will share the exact location with participants in their acceptance email for the retreat.
