Rooted In Humanity

Benevolent Community Circle Series - A Year of Reflection, Conversation, and Community

What does it mean to live rooted in humanity – benevolently – in a world that so often pulls us toward division?

“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”
— Mother Teresa

How do we remain grounded in our values when the world around us feels uncertain?

How do we listen deeply – to ourselves and to one another – especially across difference?

And what might become possible if we intentionally practiced the art of being in community, rather than simply talking about community?

These questions are at the heart of the Benevolent Community Initiative and our understanding of a Community’s Coming of Age™.

We invite you to join us for Rooted in Humanity: A Benevolent Community Circle Series, a year-long experience of reflection, meaningful conversation, and intentional community.

Gathering once each month on Zoom for 90 minutes, we will create space to engage essential questions – not in search of easy answers, but with curiosity about the possibilities they may reveal.

Together, we will explore ways of living with greater presence  in uncertain times: nurturing relational trust, deepening our capacity to listen across difference, remaining rooted in the values that guide us, and renewing our sense of hope.

At the heart of our time together is a simple belief: there is light and wisdom within each of us.

When we gather with intention – bringing our stories, questions, lived experiences, and wisdom into relationship with one another – that light can become something more.

It can illuminate our shared humanity.

And perhaps, in doing so, help us remember that community is not simply something we belong to.

Community is something we practice, nurture, and create – together.

And we believe there  is meaningful discovery and magic in a space built with generosity of heart, mind, and spirit.

Our first on-line gathering will take place on Tuesday, September 15th, 2026 at 7:00 pm U.S. Eastern Time, concluding at 8:30 pm.
During our first meeting we will set the dates for the months following together.

Our time together will honor the Circle of Trust® process, practices, and principles, creating a space where each person is invited to participate with authenticity, curiosity, and care.

We will hold our Circle using shared Touchstones that help nurture trust and create a welcoming and safe space for reflection and meaningful conversation. Each gathering will include time for personal reflection, small- and large-group sharing, and engagement with poetry, music, art, stories, and video as “third things”—offering different pathways into our own wisdom and the wisdom of the Circle.

We will close each gathering with a Grace Note—a final offering to carry with us as we return to our lives and communities.

The fee for the full year-long series is $400. We are grateful to be able to offer scholarship support for those who would like to participate and for whom the full fee may present a barrier. We hope that cost will not stand in the way of joining this Circle.
