In a fast paced and chaotic world we often feel the need to act quickly and we can also feel like there’s nothing we can do.
There is always something we can do. We can slow down and take time to reflect. We can rediscover what resides in our heart of hearts. We can cultivate wholeheartedness and restore the balance of being and doing. And when we do act, we can act intentionally and with our full presence.
In this weekend Circle of Trust® Retreat, we will explore our wholeheartedness through:
- Attention: Slow way down and find your way back to your heart
- Strength: Celebrate the gifts that reside at your heart’s center
- Vulnerability:
-
-
- Recognize the shadows that also reside there.
- How do the shadows make you more human
- Intention:
-
-
- Identify what your heart truly values
- Visualize your heart’s desire
- Restore the Balance between doing and being,
- Return ready to take action from your heart
Expect time alone and time in small and large groups. Silence and sharing. Deep listening and confidentiality. Poetry, walks along the beach, art, music — all by invitation, not demand. We will honor the Courage & Renewal Touchstones, and will offer Clearness Committees.
This retreat is for anyone who is tired from being overstretched and overstimulated – especially for those in the healing and service professions, those who give all day and know they all need recovery… teachers, leaders, healthcare givers, emergency response workers….and the parts of ourselves that are all those things.
We extend a special invitation for pairs or groups of people who want to spend this Valentine’s Day weekend strengthening your hearts and growing your intention and capacity for wholehearted presence in all of your relationships.
Our work together is based on the work of Parker J. Palmer and the Center for Courage & Renewal. The Courage & Renewal approach, described in Palmer’s book A Hidden Wholeness, focuses on cultivating our inner capacity to live a more authentic, meaningful, and engaged life. Informed by Courage & Renewal Principles, Practices, and Touchstones, we can create a trustworthy, brave space with our attention, imagination, and confidential conversations.
