“This is the first, wildest and wisest thing I know,
that the soul exists, and that it is built entirely out of attentiveness.”
Mary Oliver
We live in a time and culture which discourages us from paying attention to the soul or true self, and when we fail to pay attention, we end up living soulless lives.
In groups and individually, we will explore the nature of the soul and how it is nurtured through poetry, music, creativity, solitude, community, and deep listening.
This retreat is based on the work of Parker J. Palmer, author, speaker, and activist, who is the founder of the Center for Courage & Renewal and the Courage & Renewal ® approach. Within this approach we will reflect on the writings, visual arts, and music of creative women. The Circle of Trust setting allows us to focus on cultivating our inner capacity to live a more authentic and meaningful life.
