Give yourself the time and space to engage your whole, authentic self with courage and support as we explore the questions of your life in the renewal of springtime.

During these quarterly, day-long Circle of Trust® retreats, we will co-create trustworthy space to listen to the wisdom of our personal inner teacher in community with others through the Courage & Renewal® approach developed by Parker Palmer and the Center for Courage & Renewal. Discerning our authentic selves, our “hidden wholeness,” as Palmer calls it, happens when we honor our integrity and pay attention to our inner source of truth, named in various wisdom traditions as identity, true self, heart, spirit, or soul. Through Circles of Trust, we renew our courageous spirit as we align our inner and outer selves—our “soul” and “role”—and journey toward personal and societal wholeness.
This program is part of a series of quarterly Circle of Trust gatherings, each of which will have a seasonal theme and invite a variety of full-group, small-group, and individual experiences, including time to enjoy the beautiful natural grounds of Prairiewoods. We will connect with our inner teachers and build community through poems, stories, songs, artworks, and activities drawn from diverse cultures and wisdom traditions, offering opportunities for individual reflection, trustworthy sharing, and deep listening.
Participants are welcome to attend one, some, or all of these circle gatherings. Circles of Trust are open to all, regardless of background or belief.
Prairiewoods’ 67 acres of woods and prairie offer a haven for those in search of quiet, solitude, and a connection with the natural world. Many guests who come to Prairiewoods talk of receiving an instant sense of peace or of experiencing healing energy as they enter the grounds. The noise and activity of the city seem to fade in this contemplative environment!
Guests have opportunities to enjoy the prairie and woods with a two-and-half-mile network of trails and meditation areas. Because the grounds are home to many species of plant and animal life, visitors may be rewarded with sightings of deer, fox, wild turkeys, and a variety of birds. The grounds feature a cosmic walk, a labyrinth, a food forest, and an edible landscape.
The Center (main building), in addition to meeting rooms, features a gift shop, a meditation room, a fully staffed kitchen, and a media center. Although this is a one-day retreat, participants are welcome to stay at Prairiewoods’ guest house on their own.
Visit Prairiewoods’ website at prairiewoods.org.
Participants are welcome to attend one, some, or all of these quarterly, seasonal circle gatherings. Future dates are July 12 (Summer Abundance), October 4 (Autumn Harvest), and January 10 (Winter Rest). A discounted $175 for all four circle gatherings is available.
