Design the Life you Love…in Sonoma, California

“Sometimes, life can feel big, messy and filled with the unknown.  This retreat offers you space to explore how mystery shows up in unexpected places to guide your ongoing awakening.  With opportunities to reflect while hiking and in meaningful conversation with others, this is a time of breaking open your true self.

“Sometimes, life can feel big, messy and filled with the unknown.  Sometimes, we get caught up in details and tasks.  Sometimes, we don’t see a clear way forward or the way life appears is a  mystery.  If you find yourself in any of these spaces, a time on retreat to decompress and clear your mind, body and spirit is waiting for you.  This retreat offers you space to explore how mystery shows up in unexpected places to guide your ongoing awakening.  With opportunities to reflect while hiking and in meaningful conversation with others, this is a time of breaking open your true self.

Each day on retreat, we will explore individually, and in community, the thoughts and behaviors that hold us back and inhibit our growth.  These sessions will empower you with tools, techniques, and practices to help you make changes that  serve you in your pursuit of living an authentic and wholehearted life.  These retreat sessions are interactive, fun, and insightful.  You’ll work hard, be challenged, and leave feeling invigorated with new possibilities.  The afternoons will be filled with visits to world-class wineries, hiking breathtaking redwood groves and enjoying dramatic coastal bluffs. Sonoma’s world-renowned vineyards and exceptional wines are not to be missed as we wine taste with local winemakers in one of California’s most iconic regions.

Each day, expert facilitators will lead educational and contemplative sessions inspired by Parker Palmer, Brené Brown, and other leading expert voices in personal transformation.  These daily sessions will make space and expand the possibilities in your life.  As you begin the week, you will become very clear on what aspects of your life you need to focus on to revitalize joy, meaning and purpose.  We will examine and release those things that are no longer serving you.  Throughout the week, you will be equipped to let go so that you can create the space for new stories of lovability and the results you desire to arrive.  With our tools and support, you will begin to intentionally create a life filled with joy, meaning, and purpose.  By the end of the week, you will be grounded in knowing where and how to live by the promise of bounty.  You WILL walk away with a roadmap for transformation and will leave feeling supported, fulfilled, nurtured, and satisfied.

After your morning educational sessions, your days will be filled with a soulful blend of scenic hiking, educational insights, and deep, meaningful conversations.  You will spend considerable time each day in nature, admiring and reflecting on the unique and impressive panoramas found in Sonoma County, California.  Much like the seasonality of nature, we will embrace our daily nature immersions to deeply understand the relationship between ourselves and the natural surroundings.  We will hike through redwood forests, along beachside bluffs and up to impressive panoramas of the valley below.  We will follow with wine tasting experiences and will gather for a communal dinner in the early evening to enjoy some of the delicious food found in Sonoma County.  Each evening, to further help rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul, you are invited to join in an unstructured social hour with your fellow travelers and guides.

Courage & Renewal facilitator Corey Martin will be joined by Mary Messina.  Mary is a business engagement leader with proven success across a diverse range of experiences.

Day 1  (February 12th)

Today,  you can arrive at any time of day.  A hotel room will reserved for you in San Francisco.

Day 2

We will start our day at our hotel in San Francisco with early morning educational sessions focused around creating space to do the heartfelt work of identifying ego stories that undermine your ability to create the life you desire.  Then its off to our hotel for the week, Cambria Wine Country.  We travel via a comfortable passenger van to arrive at our hotel before meeting for our afternoon educational sessions that are focused on making space for new possibilities.  We end the day by enjoying a lovely dinner together.

Tonight we are staying at the Cambria Hotel in Sonoma. Breakfast included.

Day 3

Morning educational sessions will focus on perfectionism, grief and forgiveness.  All humans are programmed for proving we are enough.  We will disassemble these auto-pilot beliefs and behaviors so you can be integral to your thoughts, word and actions.  In the journey of grief and forgiveness we will assemble a roadmap to freedom through the release and letting go of being right.  Today you will be equipped to let go so that you can create the space for the results you desire.  After our educational sessions, we visit Fitch Mountain Park and Francis Ford Coppola Winery.  The Fitch Mountain trail is located on the Southern Pomo people’s ancestral homelands.  You will have an opportunity to explore a dense forest of trees and be afforded a great view of the valley below.  After our hiking, we will head to the Francis Ford Coppola Winery to indulge in tasting experiences and dive into the world of Francis Ford Coppola wines.  On-site, you can explore the beautiful grounds, the vast collection of movie memorabilia from Francis Ford Coppola’s prestigious filmmaking career, and even play a game of bocce ball!

Tonight we are staying at the Cambria Hotel in Sonoma. Breakfast included.

Day 4

Morning educational sessions will use clearness committees to focus on how to create the life you desire.  We will be using open honest questions to help you hear yourself into deeper understanding of the answers you seek, the outcomes you desire, and to become crystal clear on the path forward.  After our educational sessions, we hike the well-maintained and relatively easy Kortum Trail where you will get breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean on this nice walk along the Sonoma coastline.  Much of this trail is a double plank wood walkway that goes over wetland and offers sweeping views of the ocean and offshore sea stacks.  There are optional side trips down to the beach or up the trailside rock outcroppings.

Tonight we are staying at the Cambria Hotel in Sonoma. Breakfast included.

Day 5

Morning educational sessions will help you build your roadmap for transformation and meaning.  You will be grounded in knowing where and how to live by the promise of bounty.  You WILL walk away with a roadmap for transformation to be used throughout your lifetime of never-ending growth and expansion.   Today, our hikes include the Armstrong Redwoods Grove Loop Trail and the Pioneer Nature Trail. Together, they form a 3.5-mile loop that will take you past the park’s oldest redwood, the Colonel Armstrong Tree, estimated to be more than 1,400 years old.  Following our hikes, we will adventure to the Korbel Champagne Winery for tastings as we enjoy this California-based brand of bubbly that has been a staple of American celebrations.
