The delicate balance of mentoring someone is not creating them in your own image, but giving them the opportunity to create themselves.

Welcome!
We imagine you arrived here due to experiences with Courage & Renewal programs and are curious to understand what it might look like to mentor another person using the Courage & Renewal approach.
Who is this program for?
This program is for anyone who seeks to “show up” genuinely for another with a desire to hold space in a way that nurtures one’s inner teacher.
- Are you interested in exploring what “mentoring” might look like through the lens of the CCR principles and practices?
- Are you a Courage & Renewal Facilitator interested in mentoring an apprentice in Facilitator Preparation (if you were not a mentor for Cohorts 25 or 26, currently in the FPP program)?
Whether you find yourself in a formal or informal role as a mentor, this program offers you an opportunity to explore what it might look and feel like to support someone (colleague, child, community member, or FPP apprentice) informed by the principles and practices of Courage & Renewal.
There are a variety of ways to describe the learning partnerships that exist through mentoring. Some programs refer to “learning or thinking partners;” others talk about “critical friends” or “peer coaches;” some use the term “guides;” some simply speak of “role models, listeners, companions.” However it is named, most of us have had the experience of being on both sides of this relationship—of being the guide, and of being guided.
Through conversation, practice opportunities, sharing of ideas & resources, the mentoring relationships can be mutually beneficial and deeply enriching as each person brings significant gifts, understandings, skills, and experiences that create a dynamic and evolving opportunity for growth and learning.
