We use our experiences and the paths we hike as daily metaphors to develop gratitude, hope, awe, and joy.
Phoenix got its name from the mythological animal which has the ability to die, rise from the ashes, and come to life again. Its name is symbolic of renewal, rebirth, and resurrection. This seems like an appropriately named location to start this journey of falling upward into the second half of life. As you arrive here the day before our trip starts, you can take in local arts and culture, explore the outdoors, indulge in a unique dining scene, or just sit by the pool and relax. Plan to arrive at anytime this day. The retreat will begin at 8am the next morning. Tonight we stay in Phoenix.
Morning educational sessions are a deep dive into gratitude, relationships and mindset. The beauty of Sedona draws visitors from around the world. The striking red rocks are internationally renowned for their majestic beauty. After our breakfast together, we travel to Sedona via a comfortable passenger van to arrive at our hotel, The Element, and meet for our initial retreat educational sessions. Tonight we stay at the Element Hotel in Sedona. Breakfast included.
Morning educational sessions will be on creating space in our busy life – how to get clear on our values and set boundaries and allow for a new story of meaning and purpose to arise. In the morning we will have the opportunity to hike the Brins Mesa Trail, check out Soldiers Pass Trail, and the Seven Sacred Pools. This hike leads you into the open where you enjoy unobstructed views of the spectacular red rock formations for which Sedona is known. Take time to hike at your pace and enjoy solitude, or hike with one of your new friends. We will also be offering Daily Forest Therapy opportunities with our guides. After hiking we will return to the hotel for reflection time and optional massage or reiki sessions. Tonight we stay at the Element Hotel in Sedona. Breakfast included.
Morning educational sessions will focus on perfectionism, grief and forgiveness. The Courthouse Loop, Bell Rock Climb, and Big Park trails are on our agenda for today. These hikes travel through some of the famous Sedona energy vortex areas. This is also a great day to spend the afternoon taking advantage of some of the nation’s best alternative healers. There are many businesses nearby to book a massage, experience Reiki healing, or have your energy flow adjusted through Qigong. You will have the opportunity for a forest therapy session with our guides. Tonight we stay at the Element Hotel in Sedona. Breakfast included.
Morning educational sessions will use clearness committees to focus on how to create the life you desire. Today we have the opportunity to Hike the Fay Canyon Trail. This small hidden canyon ends at a red Supai sandstone cliff, and for those of us who are more adventurous, can be scaled to get a breathtaking view of the valley. Once we return to Sedona, there is free-time to use for your own well-being. Tonight we stay at the Element Hotel in Sedona. Breakfast included.
Morning educational sessions will focus on transitions and continue to hone the vision for your new life with more meaning, purpose and joy. After our morning sessions we will spend some time in downtown Sedona allowing the opportunity to do a little shopping and to check out Sedona’s business community. The afternoon affords us one more opportunity for what many say is the best trail in Sedona — the Oak Creek Trail. This trail traverses a shallow stream that flows through a deep, forested canyon. It contains plentiful wildlife and many eroded rock formations, and is the perfect place to end our hiking retreat. Tonight we stay at the Element Hotel in Sedona. Breakfast and Dinner included.
Arrive back in Phoenix by 12 noon. Some travelers may choose to fly home later in the day while others may want to rent a car and spend more time checking out other parts of Phoenix, such as the botanical garden, or go on one last hike and summit Camelback mountain. Breakfast included.
