Claiming your Life: Navigating Transitions with Hope & Courage

The New Year brings us the opportunity to think about changes and new directions. What transitions are you experiencing in your life? How have you navigated life changes and what have you learned from those experiences? Join us as we explore these questions and others you may be holding about the nature and experience of transitions and changes in your life. This Circle of Trust© retreat is for anyone seeking ways to more fully understand and act on the possibilities for growth and renewal that transitions and change can offer.

“You only need claim the events of your life to make yourself yours.
When you truly possess all that you have been and done…you are fierce with reality.”
~Florida Scott-Maxwell

Throughout life’s journey, people experience numerous transitions in work, personal life, and in the communities to which they belong. Some transitions are monumental and life changing, others are smaller and less dramatic. No matter their impact, all of these changes are doorways and thresholds, openings to new growth and opportunities. In this retreat we will reflect on our experiences with transitions to better understand the possibilities for growth they offer for us as individuals and community members.

What to expect: Applying principles and practices from the Courage & Renewal© approach developed by Parker J. Palmer, in this retreat we will step away from our busy lives to make space to consider the meaning and possibility to be discovered in the transitions we experience. We will turn to our own stories and experiences, those of others in the circle, and insights from diverse creators of poetry, art, music, and other visual media to help us connect with ourselves and one another. Join us as we gather to understand, navigate, and learn from transitions in our lives.

During this three-day, online retreat we will have the opportunity to reflect in solitude and in community with others to:

  • Discern insights from poetry, art, music and wisdom stories
  • Reflect on and share our own stories of navigating change
  • Reconnect with our inner wisdom and the guidance it offers
  • Envision possibilities for renewed hope and a clearer vision for growth
  • Create trust-worthy spaces that honor the integrity of each person
