Screaming into the Void – Finding Wholeness in Times of Brokenness: Balance Self & Community care in Times of Chaos, Complexity and Collapse

This Pop-up Retreat is about finding yourself – where you can stand strong in a trustworthy community - during these challenging times of increased reactivity, challenges to human rights, and a palpable intersection of chaos, complexity and collapse. We will discern our wisdom in this liminal space, learning to sing each other out of the void - that place where we need help to re-connect with our self, each other, and the vibrancy of life.

This Pop-up Retreat is about finding yourself – where you can stand strong during these challenging times of high reactivity, challenges to human rights, and a palpable intersection of chaos, complexity and collapse.

  • Are you being called to uphold the best of our human qualities, i.e. human dignity, love, inter-relatedness, empathy, kindness, inclusion and equity?
  • As our world contracts, how do we care for each other, moving through despair & fear to vibrant possibilities – to keep, keep showing up for what is right?
  • Where is the Sacred in these times of separation?

You are welcome here.

We will learn to sing each other out of the void – that place where we need help to re-connect with our self, each other, and the vibrancy of life.

In times of complexity, inner & outer work is intertwined with individual and collective work.  Come wrestle together and learn from our lived experiences & wisdom.  These organic ways to move forward are more trustworthy than each of us trying to find our way.

This Courage & Renewal Retreat includes:
practices of being in a trustworthy communal space,
practices of discernment, joy & empathy,
individual reflection and collective Clearness Committees,
time for personal reflection and with others,
creative time off camera,
engagement with the natural world around us.

Many, many of us are holding questions.  The stakes are high for many groups of people and sentient beings in our world. Humanity is at a crossroads – one road claims the best of human qualities, visioning a healthy, thriving planet for all, and valuing the Sacred  – however you name a force greater than one self, i.e. love, inter-relatedness, The Great Spirit, interconnectedness of all of life, Consciousness, Kami, God, Allah, Jesus, trees & nature, community.

In contrast, the other road encourages violence, hatred, power over, greed, separation from each other, and other life alienating actions.  It is a time of choice.

Contraction and Expansion, a concept from Jewish Mysticism, helps us understand how our world is always moving from contraction to expansion – expansion to contraction. Our retreat will invite us into the liminal space of being in-between these transitions, a place of deep reflection and learning.

Loretta Ross calls us in to recognize that our specific work for human rights is stronger when we value the inter-relatedness of all of our work for a just & truly loving world.  In order to sustain our self, we can not work alone:

“We simply make more progress if we start from a core that connects and then work outward.”

We will not focus on finding answers, solutions or specific actions, but rather an accompaniment with each other – our superpower of empathy, joy, and interconnectedness.   As we hold our personal and collective questions together, all of you is welcome – your doubts, fears and despair as well as visioning, love, courageousness, and new ways to act in our world.

We will even make a shared playlist of the songs that inspire us to carry us back into the world post retreat!

Drawing upon life giving practices from Courage & Renewal Practices, Jewish Mysticism, Warriors for the Human Spirit, Nonviolent Communication, and Joanna Macy’s despair work, and Forest Bathing.
Come join a meaningful community for you to just be.
