Give yourself the time and space to engage your whole, authentic self with courage and support as we explore the questions of your life in the abundance of summertime.

During these quarterly, day-long Circle of Trust® retreats, we will co-create trustworthy space to listen to the wisdom of our personal inner teacher in community with others through the Courage & Renewal® approach developed by Parker Palmer and the Center for Courage & Renewal. Discerning our authentic selves, our “hidden wholeness,” as Palmer calls it, happens when we honor our integrity and pay attention to our inner source of truth, named in various wisdom traditions as identity, true self, heart, spirit, or soul. Through Circles of Trust, we renew our courageous spirit as we align our inner and outer selves—our “soul” and “role”—and journey toward personal and societal wholeness.
This program is part of a series of quarterly Circle of Trust gatherings, each of which will have a seasonal theme and invite a variety of full-group, small-group, and individual experiences, including time to enjoy the beautiful natural grounds of Prairiewoods. We will connect with our inner teachers and build community through poems, stories, songs, artworks, and activities drawn from diverse cultures and wisdom traditions, offering opportunities for individual reflection, trustworthy sharing, and deep listening.
Participants are welcome to attend one, some, or all of these circle gatherings. Circles of Trust are open to all, regardless of background or belief.
Prairiewoods Franciscan Spirituality Center is a retreat and conference center focused on ecology, spirituality and holistic health. It is nestled in a natural setting of 67 acres of prairie and woodland in Hiawatha, Iowa, just north of Cedar Rapids. Prairiewoods is funded by Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration but is open to people of all faiths and cultures.
Prairiewoods is a place of peace and transformation. We often hear from our guests that Prairiewoods is an oasis in the midst of busy lives and they feel a sense of peace as soon as they turn into our drive. Come see how you can be transformed by:
